Course Introduction

The market place for industrial products today demands innovation, improved designs, high reliability, quality, and low prices. This means rapid prototyping and production systems that are agile and able to change more rapidly. The basic components of manufacturing systems are outlined in the course.

Course Content

This 5 Professional Development Hour (PDH) online course has series of inputs of manufacturing data and solved output equations in an Excel format. The student will type numerical values for production parameters and Excel will perform the calculations. For example, the proposed, cost of a product is typed into labeled input cells and the quantity to be produced will be calculated automatically for any desired profit.

Any input parameter can be found for a target value of an Excel calculated item by using the "Goal Seek" tool in Excel.
