This course is intended to provide professional personnel working in architecture and engineering with an insight into the procurement process used by government agencies, private corporations, and purchasing “departments.” It will assist anyone involved in producing technical drawings, specifications, and bid information, and will help avoid procurement entanglements when receiving bids, opening bids, and analyzing the information so obtained. Some of the methods and”tricks” used by bidders and suppliers to either limit the competition or raise the final bid prices are examined, along with a discussion of what can be done to avoid this type of situation.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the un-derstanding of the course materials.
