Small boat harbors are essential to the operation of water transportation for people, materials, and the fishing industry. Detailed studies are conducted before harbors are built. These studies are essential for the proper construction, safety and minimal environmental impacts.
This 6 hour course will provide the guidance for planning, layout, and design of small boat harbors. It will provide useful information to determine the best location and size of small boat harbors.
This course is to read by anyone with an interest in ocean, coastal, environmental, civil and transportation engineering or anyone wanting to know more information regarding the hydraulic design of small boat harbors.
These course materials are based solely on the report “Hydraulic Design of Small Boat Harbors” as found on the website of the Army Corps of Engineering.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
