This course of Surveying Techniques – Fundamentals brings the most important concepts of this subject, with Geodesy and Geodetic parameters, basic topographic techniques, planimetrics, units and measurements, ancient and current surveying equipment, cartography, and so on. Surveying or land surveying is a technique and science of determining the terrestrial positions of points and the distances and angles over an area of the Earth´s surface. Survey data is portrayed graphically by the construction of maps, profiles, cross sections, and diagrams. It is also used in transport, communications, mapping, and the definition of legal boundaries for land ownership. It is an important tool for research in many other scientific disciplines. Land surveying is basically an art and science of mapping and measuring a local land.
