Course Outline
This eight hour course webinar provides valuable information for anyone who is asked to address energy management and energy efficiency issues at a water or wastewater facility. Completion of this course will provide the student the necessary information and testing to meet the continuing education requirements in order to renew their licenses. It was designed by an instructor who has developed and implemented numerous similar training courses, and served on the steering committee for the development of the texts.
This course requires the completion of a multiple-choice quiz at its conclusion in order to obtain the necessary certification.

At the conclusion of this course, the student will understand:
- The energy issues facing the water and wastewater industry;
- The Plan-Do-Check-Act approach;
- How to establish energy management goals;
- How to secure and maintain employee buy-in;
- How to conduct an energy audit;
- How to prioritize activities and operations;

- How to monitor and/or reassess compliance status;
- How to apply lessons learned from other facilities;
- How to get ready to plan for energy efficiency projects;
- How to measure energy project results;
- Various financing vehicles and funding sources;
- The local, state and federal programs available for energy efficiency;
- How the City of O’Fallon, MO incorporated energy efficiency; and
- How the Lawrence Sanitary District incorporated energy efficiency.
Intended Audience
The intended audience for this course is any professional who is involved in developing and implementing an energy management program at a water or wastewater facility.

Attendees of this course will understand how to develop and implement an energy management system (EnMS) and basic energy efficiency concepts at water and wastewater facilities, and will greatly reduce the learning curve for any professional.
