For over 4,000 years, the world's tallest structure was the 481' tall Great Pyramid at Giza, Egypt. By the 1880s, three key factors in the evolution of tall buildings were in place: a need for space, better building materials, and the invention of the safety elevator. Since then, bigger and taller buildings have sprang up all over the world. In this webinar, we will review the history of skyscrapes, study the special needs of tall buildings, and examine the construction process of recently completed highrises.Learning Objective
