Course Outline
In this course, we will look at tire failures in the overall context of causes of reported motor vehicle fatalities. We will look at the design, manufacturing, and re-treading of tires. We will also examine the causes of tire failures. An introduction to tire failure forensic analysis methodology will be discussed.

At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- The importance of tire failure relative to other causes of motor vehicle fatalities;
- Understand basic tire design;
- Understand basic tire manufacturing and retreading of tires;
- Be familiarized with causes of tire failure; and
- Be introduced to tire failure analysis methodology.
