This five-hour online course is only an introduction of many practical concepts utilized in Project Management. The basic assumption, here, is the knowlewdge of business management tools based on production processes, quality methods and scientific management approaches.

At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- Understand the concepts and parameters used in production management;
- Understand the concepts and parameters used in quality management methods;
- Understand the concepts and parameters used in industrial production, quality systems, planning techniques;
- Understand the common terms usually used for management technologies;
- Know the meaning and application of the Program Evaluation and Review Technique;
- Be able to learn and recognize the importance of project management in our society, due its huge use in engineering and industrial production;
- Know the basic comprehension of the terms generally used in production management as Six Sigma, 5 W´s and 1 H, Production Planning and Control and ERP ;
- Be able to learn the concepts used in the stages of project planning and Microsoft Project;
- Recognize project characteristics, team members, checklist, project constraints, and phases of a project;
- Know the minimum concepts of production systems as MRP, RMP, HRM, JIT, Kanban, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing; and
- Understand how to apply quality management systems as TQM, QMS, FMEA, SQC, Cause and Effect, Control Charts and Histograms.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for everyone, women or men, begginers, students, technicians, land surveyors, architects, engineers, contractors and professionals interested or working with project management or manage projects more effectively.
