Dr. Samir G. Khoury, P.G. is a Registered Professional Geologist with over 35 years experience in geology, hydrology, geophysics, seismology and project management. He received his Ph.D. in structural Geology and Tectonics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 1965. Following receipt of his degree, he was a professor at the University of Pittsburgh for six years where he taught undergraduate and graduate Geology. Dr. Khoury then joined the consulting firm of Dames and Moore, where, for five years he acted as Project Manager on a number of national and international projects. In this capacity, he supervised multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, consultants and subcontractors.
Dr. Khoury then spent 16 years at Ebasco Services Incorporated, a 10,000+ employee consulting engineering and construction firm, as Manager of geological, environmental, and geotechnical engineering projects. His responsibilities included supervising professional teams of geologists, geophysicists, hydrologists and engineers on a number of large contracts in the U.S. and overseas. In 1994, he left Ebasco to form Applied Geosciences Incorporated (AGI) to provide high level geological and hydrological consulting services to public and private clients.
Dr. Khoury is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, Member of the National Groundwater Association, Member of the American Geophysical Union, and is a Past-President of the Geological Society of Pittsburgh.
