Starting with a B.S. degree in Engineering from Carnegie Institute of Technology, Mr. Biss has progressed through various phases of Engineering and Management – line and staff- to positions in total plant operations. His experience has been in both government and private industry. In government, he functioned as a Project Engineer charged with monitoring electrical test programs and preparing technical reports. In industry, his experience has been in electric utility, iron & steel, and glass. In addition to his designing power distribution and lighting systems, he also directed the engineering and maintenance functions in two companies. Besides engineering, Mr. Biss has been involved in various phases of operations required to produce a profit…in production - quality control - physical plant – equipment – maintenance.
Mr. Biss also holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and have several Certificates for completing various courses related to engineering…Motor Applications – Electric Process Heating – Power Distribution – Illumination – Safety – NEC.
Mr. Biss is a Licensed Professional Engineer, a member in the National Society of Professional Engineers and honorary life member of the Westmoreland Technical Society serving as President in both and Founder in the latter. During his time of employment in industry, he was also a member in other associations including the Association of Iron & Steel Engineers, Wire Association, and American Management Association.
