Steel is one of the world’s most essential engineering materials. It is fundamental to every aspect of our lives, from large buildings and bridges to small knives and scissors. The global crude steel production reached just over 1.8 billion tonnes in 2018. This course focuses on the history, development, and applications of steel. You will learn about the people who made significant contributions to steelmaking technologies and the major milestones in the development of various types of steel. In addition, you will learn about the fundamentals of cold-formed steel design and construction.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
