This course is an introduction to AI and its applications in various engineering fields including civil and structural engineering. The course covers the fundamentals of AI including its history, evolution, types, and algorithms such as Artificial Neural Networks and Deep Learning. The course also covers the applications of AI in engineering design and optimization, simulation and testing, predictive maintenance, product design and development, construction management, infrastructure monitoring and maintenance, traffic management and prediction, earthquake and disaster prediction, and emergency management and response. Additionally, we will explore future directions of and potential advancements in AI. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of AI for those seeking to understand how it is shaping the future of engineering.
