This course will introduce students to multiple ground improvement techniques currently used in geotechnical construction. The techniques that will be discussed include deep dynamic compaction, rapid impact compaction, vibro compaction, compaction grouting, wick drains, vibro replacement, rigid inclusions, chemical grout, jet grout and soil mixing. Design and construction considerations are addressed, and select case histories are presented.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
