Sean Guan, Ph.D. The purpose of this course is to provide information related to the design safety standards for electrical systems. Students will study OSHA Regulation 1910.303: General Requirements-Design Safety Standards for Electrical Systems, which discusses the examination, installation, and use of electrical equipment as well as requirements on the conductor splices, arcing parts of electrical equipment, and marking of electrical equipment. It also provides design guidelines on the identification of disconnecting means and circuits, and access and working space around electrical equipment. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials. NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public. NY Board does not accept courses related to office management, risk management, leadership, marketing, accounting, financial planning, real estate, and basic CAD.
