This 4-hour course is a about combined cycle power plants. A combined cycle power plant uses a combination of a gas turbine and a steam turbine, connected by a heat recovery steam generator, to generator electricity. The units are typically fueled by natural gas and are very efficient. With large quantities of natural gas available in the US, combined cycle power plants are expected to be a major component in utility generation fleets for many years. This course covers the design and operational characteristics of a combined cycle power plant as well as looking at the natural gas industry.
This course includes a multiple choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
