Learning Units (Hours)
Timothy L. O'Hearn, PE
This 8-hour course is primarily concerned with reviewing and understanding the essential elements of the standard for electrical safety in the workplace. This standard addresses the controls necessary for the practical safeguarding of employees relative to the hazards associated with electrical energy during activities such as the installation, removal, inspection, operation, maintenance, and demolition of electric conductors, electric equipment, signaling and communication conductors and equipment, and raceways.
The intent of the course is to have the student read the standard which provides guidance and information pertinent to electrical safety in the workplace. This is a practical way to receive continuing educational credits for reading and understanding the content of this important industry standard.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
