This 4-hour course describes how transmission line loadings are calculated and how dynamically rating transmission line capacity may improve efficiencies of electric power delivery and improve electric reliability. This course provides calculation examples of line capacity and describes both the benefits and challenges in implementing dynamic line ratings (DLRs).
