Our modern day is fraught with petty crime including the theft of packages from the front steps. There are many security systems in the marketplace, some very expensive that do a good job but are not affordable by everyone out there needing them. I am a person that uses online firms to supply much of my needs in my elderly days, so I began testing some of the wireless cameras in the marketplace. Bear in mind, I am somewhat of a computer specialist and quite familiar with the various types of networks that are being used and know that most of us have computers and Wi-Fi systems, if not smart phones. I did try several wireless systems and was not at all pleased with them; I did return them for credit. One of the cameras had a built- signal generator and came with a receiver that could be connected to a TV or a computer, unfortunately there are so many signals running in a household with smart phones and computers that the signal was not stable. I settled on the one that I'm going to recommend in a very detailed manner to give those that are not intimate with computers, routers and networks a head start.
BTW: I do have a Swann security system installed inin addition to the wireless camera and you may wonder why I didn't use it. The reason is because I wanted a camera that would send me an alarm to my smart phone when it detected motion, where as the security systems such as a Swann simply record the event. There purpose is primarily to monitor the home for break-ins and send an alarm to the police.
