This 5-hour course explains how the energy contained in hot dry rocks below the Earth’s surface. The course describes the heat capability of hot dry rocks, where suitable rock formations may be found and at what depth. The types of geothermal power plants are described in detail, and the economics of geothermal power plants is discussed as well as environmental issues.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
