This course introduces the Americans with Disabilities Act and its role in ensuring equal access and opportunity for people with disabilities. It explains the definition of disability, the five ADA titles, employment accommodations, state and local government responsibilities, and accessibility obligations for public accommodations. Topics include the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, program accessibility, barrier removal, effective communication, digital accessibility, service animals, and accessible transportation, providing a foundation for recognizing accessibility barriers and understanding compliance responsibilities.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance understanding of the course materials.
