Life Safety Code 101PE & RA HSW

Life safety is the most important consideration in all engineering designs. The Life Safety Code (LSC) is a compilation of fire safety requirements for new and existing buildings, and is updated every 3 years by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This course helps you understand the goals of life safety, know the key concepts within life safety, understand the requirements of fire separation and barrier, and learn both basic and general life safety requirements such as means of egress, fire-resistance rating, and fire protection features.

The course has a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.

* Note: This course can be used to satisfy part of the 4-hour Life Safety Code training requirement for engineers licensed in Louisiana.

~~~
Note to Louisiana PE: If you serve as the "professional of record" for a given project, or if you are responsible for any part of a set of plans which are to be submitted for approval to any agency, such as the Office of the Fire Marshall, then you must earn at least 4 PDHs in Life Safety Code, or building codes, or ADA Accessibility Guidelines, or a combination thereof. Note: Key terms are "professional of record" and "signing and sealing plans".
Note: This course requires users to pay first before viewing the course content.
