The 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting 219 countries and territories around the world. In the United States, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases had surpassed 23 million with nearly 380,000 reported deaths by mid-January 2021. This course is based on the "Covid-19 Response Training Tool" developed by the Worker Training Program of the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). This training tool is designed to increase health and safety awareness for anyone with potential exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. Besides COVID-19 basics, we will review the NIOSH hierarchy of safety controls and common prevention techniques in all work settings. The goal is to help engineering and land surveying professionals protect themselves from COVID-19 in the workplace and on the worksite. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
