Warren T. Jones, Ph.D., PE
The National Academy of Engineering has called the grid the world’s largest integrated machine and a central part of the greatest engineering achievement of the 20th century – electrification of modern society. This course is defined as the first four chapters of the National Academy Press document entitled Terrorism and the Electric Power Delivery System, a report requested by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. These four chapters describe the grid system, its physical security and the vulnerabilities of the transmission and distribution system as well as control centers.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
