The emergence of COVID-19 has focused attention on the need for understanding the dynamics of pandemics. The epidemic models and online simulations presented in this course provide opportunities to explore and develop insights into these dynamics and the challenges involved in scientific software development. Technologies and strategies that can mitigate the spread of an epidemic are discussed and related references are also provided for further study.
