This online course provides information and criteria pertinent to the design and selection of mechanical and electrical systems for flood control pumping stations. Details about equipment requirements, material and system selection considerations, testing and maintenance requirements, station wiring and equipment grounding requirements, and environmental protection are also discussed. The course materials are based entirely on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Engineering Manual EM 1110-2-3105: Mechanical and Electrical Design of Pumping Stations (1994 edition with Change 2 dated 1999, 169 pages). This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
