This geotechnical training seminar gets you started right. Deep excavation design requires careful consideration of many factors. For starts a design has to properly evaluate existing site/geotechnical conditions. The right shoring solution has to be selected which also depends on local experience. Shoring design must bring together many aspects of structural and geotechnical engineering.
This course will cover the following items: a) Limit-equilibrium and non-linear analysis basics, b) Soil property estimation, c) Available wall type options, d) Available bracing options, e) Design approach methods (allowable stress, LRFD), and f) Example problems and solution approach. In addition, this course will cover how to select the proper shoring system and how to apply different design methods through some real world examples.
