Delegating Effectively

Patricia Snyder

For any professional or technical specialist who is thrust willingly or not into a leadership role, certain management responsibilities may prove difficult. For most, delegation is such a skill. For many reasons, managers may be fearful of giving up control, sometimes convinced that they have no one reliable enough to delegate responsibility to. Workloads in most organizations of the 21st century are so demanding, however, that learning to delegate is not optional. Delegating by default is usually unsuccessful and leaves all parties frustrated. Learning to delegate and develop the talent you have at your disposal in a planned and proactive way, on the other hand, will ultimately give you back your sense of control and confidence.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
