Light-frame construction is the most popular construction method in North America. This course provides a state-of-the-art engineering resource for light-frame homes, apartments, and townhouses. The course materials are based entirely on the Residential Structural Design Guide (2nd Edition) published by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the 2012 National Design Specification (NDS) for Wood Construction and Supplement published by the American Wood Council (AWC). Part I of this course series covers Chapters 1 through 5 of the Residential Structural Design Guide. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
