NFPA 101 - Life Safety Code

Course Overview

Life Safety Code, published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), establishes minimum requirements that will provide a reasonable degree of safety from fire and similar emergencies in buildings and structures. It has been adopted as a regulatory requirement by many States and federal agencies. This course helps you understand the goals of life safety, know the key concepts within life safety, and learn about means of egress requirements contained in Chapter 7 of the Life Safety Code (LSC).

This course includes a multiple choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.

Course Summary

Life safety is the most important consideration in all engineering designs. Besides explaining the layout and content of the Life Safety Code, this course focuses on Chapter 7 - Means of Egress, covers the three separate and distinct elements of means of egress, and provides some guidance on how to navigate throught the LSC.
