Pre-engineered Metal Buildings: Secrets to Cost Reduction and Insights into the Trade

Matthew R. Kromke, PE

Course Outline

This two hour online course discusses ways to construct pre-engineered metal buildings in the most efficient manner possible. It is important to expand your knowledge of various design and construction techniques in order to make educated decisions that will help you complete a project that is on time and within budget.  This course will help attendees understand a variety of methods that can be successfully employed on many pre-engineered metal building projects.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.

Learning Objective

At the conclusion of this course, the attendee will be able to:

Intended Audience

This course is intended for architects, structural engineers and contractors.

Benefit to Attendees

Attendees of this course will be able to make educated decisions to reduce the cost and time required to complete a pre-engineered metal building project. They will gain insights into trade practices and learn how to avoid common pitfalls on this type of project.

Course Introduction

A structure can be efficiently created through the use of pre-engineered metal building system. However, there are many techniques that can further enhance the timeliness and cost effectiveness of a project of this type. In addition, when a pre-engineered metal building system is utilized, there needs to be awareness of issues that commonly arise in order to avoid problems both during and after construction. Successful projects don’t just happen, they are carefully executed based upon educated decisions made before the project begins.
