Learning Objective
At the conclusion of this course, the student will learn:
Intended
Audience
This course is intended primarily for civil, municipal, and environmental engineers, as well as anyone interested in or involved with wastewater treatment.
Benefits
to Attendee
An attendee of this course will gain knowledge about three types of wastewater treatment package plants: extended aeration, sequencing batch reactor and oxidation ditch systems.
Course Introduction
Package plants are pre-manufactured wastewater treatment facilities typically used to treat flows between 0.01 and 0.25 MGD. This course provides information about three types of package plants, extended aeration, sequencing batch reactor and oxidation ditch systems. General configuration, typical applications for each, advantages and disadvantages, design criteria, typical performance, and cost are covered.
Course Content
The course is based on the U.S. EPA Wastewater Technology Fact Sheet, Package Plants (EPA 832-F-00-016).
