Course Outline
The roof of a building or a house is intended to enclose and protect the contents from rain, sleet, hail, snow, wind and the rest of the perils dished out by the weather.
This Part II covers the description and characteristics of the flat roofs. For such purpose it includes topics such as, design, detailing, substrates, structural deflections, function of the insulation, material quality, inspections, and lastly, it describes the importance of maintenance as a tool to obtain the benefits of good performance and durability.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.

Course Summary
In this part of the course we cover what some consider being perhaps the most intricate roof to maintain and guaranty: the flat roof. For the variables are hard to anticipate and control. After more than one hundred years offering guaranties and insuring flat roofs, both the roofing material manufacturers and the insurance companies have accumulated a slew of statistics and experience on flat roofs which are, in some extent, disclosed in this course.
