Steven G. Liescheidt, P.E., CCS, CCPR

Course Outline

This one hour online course discusses the water usage of laboratory buildings and the opportunities to reduce water waste and increase water use efficiency in laboratory buildings.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.

Learning Objective

At the conclusion of this course, the student will:

Intended Audience

This course is intended for mechanical engineers.

Benefit for Attendee

Attendee of this course will be able to better understand the use and savings potential for water use in laboratories.

Course Introduction

Laboratory buildings use more water due to process and cooling loads along with other requirements.  This course discusses ways to reduce water use and increase water use efficiency in laboratories.

Course Content

This course is primarily based on Laboratories for the 21st Century:  Best Practices – Water Efficiency Guide for Laboratories, DOE/GO-102005-2008, May 2005:
