This five hour online course is an introduction to one of the most important aspects of AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX welding procedures tailored for inspectors, engineers, technicians, students, beginners, contractors and professionals interested in welding concepts.

At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- Knowledge of the basic types of arc welding processes according to AWS D1.1;
- To know the technical vocabulary and different types of joints and welds;
- To know the most used groove design profiles;
- Understand the technical vocabulary of welding symbols;
- Knowledge the basic considerations of the welding processes;
- To know the basic methods for welding rails, cast and wrought steels;
- Develop understanding of the effective inspection procedures;
- Develop understanding of the main NDT techniques for welding;
- Understand when and how to use the best NTD method;
- How to measure the dimensions of weld profiles;
- Understand the methods for leak testing in welding for vessels, piping and valves;
- Understand the classification of electrodes;
- Understand the general conditions of welding procedures;
- To know the levels of qualifications for welding inspection personnel according to AWS B5.1; and
- Understand the basic requirements according to ASME B31.3 and API 570.
