This five-hour online course is only an introduction to special materials and equipment inspections as parts of the most important aspects of Coating & Painting Inspection – Fundamentals, tailored for beginners, students, engineers, technicians, inspectors, contractors and other scholars or professionals interested in coating or painting inspections.

Learning Objective
At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- Understand the concepts and parameters used in Surface Preparation, Coatings Application, Color Systems, Coating & Painting Inspections;
- Understand the concepts and parameters used in components of coatings, coating types, coating layers, environmental conditions, coating application methods;
- Understand the concepts and parameters used in industrial coatings, painting quality identification and specialized testing methods;
- Understand fabrication, industrial materials and the common terms usually used for coating & painting technologies;
- Know the meaning and application properties of the resin types, curing and hardening driers, according to standards and the Relative Humidity and Dew Point in job sites;
- Be able to learn and recognize the importance of coating & painting correct application in our society, due its huge use in civil construction and industrial fabrication;
- Know the basic comprehension of the terms generally used by certified and qualified personnel in coating inspections;
- Be able of converting metric and imperial unities used in coating calculations and to remember some technical concepts;
- Be able to learn the codes and standards used in ASTM, SSPC, NACE, ISO and to increase the recognition of Coating & Painting Inspection as a career field;
- Be able to learn the standard specifications utilized in general process, piping, refineries and petrochemical installations;
- Know the parameters to determine the minimum concepts of identifiction and safety colors used on industrial equipment;
- Know the methods and techniques of highly trained personnel to stay abreast with changing technology;
- Understand the common terms used in Training, Qualification and Certification as knowledge of coating or painting instruments and field testing; and
- Understand how to apply coatings in large construction processes and power plants as minimum concepts of weldments, piping, tubes, pressure vessels, tanks, etc.
