Communication is an essential skill for professionals, especially in the construction and manufacturing industries. It is a two-way process: sending and receiving. Many focus only on the sending portion. However, in order to be a great communicator, you must also learn to listen with understanding. This course presents an overview of communication barriers as discussed by the late Professors Carl R. Rogers and F. J. Roethlisberger in their famous article Barriers and Gateways to Communication published by the Harvard Business Review. Prof. Rogers is the creator of client-centered therapy and counseling, student-centered education, and person-centered approaches to human relations and community building.
