PDHonline Course Provider Biography
Dr. William Brant is executive director and co-founder of Ethical Conflict Consulting, a nonprofit organization and education foundation based in Colorado. He focuses on professional ethics and resolving work conflicts. William Brant was a faculty member at Texas State University between 2009 and 2018 in the Master of Arts in Applied Philosophy and Ethics Program. He taught ethics for the University of Maryland University College in Europe.
Brant earned dual degrees, a BSc. in psychology and a BA in philosophy, both “with honors” Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University-San Marcos. Dr. Brant is an award-winning public speaker and former Fulbright Scholar in Germany where he studied and taught at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and the Gymnasium am Kurfürstlichen Schloß, respectively. Brant earned a graduate diploma from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and completed his doctorate and masters at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in Bulgaria. Brant authored three books, including Beyond Legal Minds: Sex, Social Violence, Systems, Methods, Possibilities (2019). Beyond Legal Minds analyzes legal systems to better understand violence and its tendencies to increase in rates under certain conditions.
Dr. Brant is a musician and songwriter. In Foshan, China, he played music professionally and taught guitar lessons to high school students while teaching at the Guangdong Shunde Desheng School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. He is an athlete and wrestling coach at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Brant is also a practicing martial artist in karate and black belt in judo. Dr. Brant is fluent in German and Spanish and speaks Bulgarian, Serbian, and Chinese.
