Recent increased understanding of the severity of impending climate change has been met with rapid development of energy technologies for non-emitting energy systems in a more sustainable approach. A coalition of international organizations, nations, states, cities, and corporations have developed a series of plans to transition into a zero net anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHGs) system by midcentury, while limiting the global temperature increase to significantly less than two degrees Celsius. This two-hour course introduces the basic steps taken to provide an economic benefit coupled with better-quality jobs that exceed costs.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
