This course is the second course of a series of GIS courses. The understanding from this course goes together with the other courses of this series of GIS courses. This course presents a study of the data used in a Geographic Information System (GIS). Application developers of GIS must have a good understanding of data used in GIS because the data cost in any GIS application is typically 80% of the application cost. This course presents the basics of data used in GIS as they are related to the intended GIS application. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end of each of the five lectures, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
