Air conditioning systems captures the heat energy from within the environment and rejects it to the environment using air or water as the medium. Where good quality and relatively inexpensive water is available in abundance, the typical equipment used is a wet cooling tower. If water is not available or if the cooling system operates on a minimal number of hours, heat rejection can be accomplished with ambient air using a finned coil condenser.
This 4-hour course provides a comprehensive description of the five prominent heat rejection methods as applicable to air conditioning systems.
The course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
