PDHonline Course Provider Biography
Mr. Newton has over 40 years of experience as an environmental engineer. He holds a Bachelors' Degree in Engineering Science, a Masters Degree in Engineering Science, and a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. He has worked for the US EPA, local county governments, for several industries as an environmental manager, and as a consultant to government and industry. Mr. Newton has authored over eight technical books, over 30 feature articles on various environmental and regulatory topics, conducted seminars across the country, and participated in many national conferences. Mr. Newton has also developed audiotape courses, web-based courses, and onsite seminar materials.
Mr. Newton has work experience with hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal issues, air pollution modeling systems design and treatment and permitting, water pollution treatment system design and permitting, toxic chemical issues, regulatory development and interpretation, environmental management system development and implementation, and employee health and safety.
Mr. Newton has been a licensed Professional Engineers in fourteen states and is a Diplomate in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He worked directly with the National Council of Engineering Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) on developing and testing the PE exams in environmental engineering. He developed certifying exams for the National Registry of Environmental Professionals. He is a member of the Water Environment Federation. Recently, Mr. Newton was named 2010 Government Engineer of the Year by the Delaware Engineering Society, a chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
